Kaja was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2017. Her practice is focused in the area of family law. Prior to joining Jenkins Marzban Logan LLP, Kaja articled and practiced civil litigation in a variety of legal areas at a general practice firm in Vancouver.

Before studying law, Kaja completed a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She was a highly competitive university debater and twice made it to the elimination rounds of the Worlds University Debate Championships. Kaja went on to complete law school at UBC and was grateful to receive the Marlee G. Kline Essay Prize and Auriol Gurner Young Memorial Award for significant contributions to feminism and the law.

Professional Experience

Kaja has appeared before the British Columbia Provincial Court and in chambers in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on many successful applications. She has also drafted a successful factum for the British Columbia Court of Appeals. Prior to articling, Kaja worked as a legal intern with Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS), assisting low income women facing domestic violence with family law matters. Since being called to the Bar, Kaja has offered free legal advice clinics at BWSS.

Professional Activities

Kaja is a member of the Canadian Bar Association Family Law Section, Social Justice Section, Women Lawyers Forum, and Young Lawyers Forum in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is a co-organizer of the BGuiled Debate, a legal comedy debate highlighting wit and humour in the legal profession. Kaja has previously contributed legal research to West Coast LEAF’s annual Gender Equality Report Card, and she is currently contributing to update the Continuing Legal Education Society’s Family Law Sourcebook.


Outside the office, Kaja enjoys playing recreational soccer, downhill skiing, attending comedy shows, playing board games, and spending time with her dog-like cat.
