Samantha’s family law practice includes all areas of family law with a particular interest in disputes involving children, including child protection matters. Whether working on matters pertaining solely to financial issues, or those matters involving children, Samantha approaches her clients’ legal challenges with empathy and skill. While Samantha regularly appears in court on behalf of her clients, she also is a certified Collaborative Family Law lawyer and regularly resolves family law matters outside of the court system through negotiation and mediation.

Samantha received her Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University and her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. She studied law at the University of Victoria and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2011. She received her certification as a Collaborative Family Law Lawyer in 2015.

Samantha has taught Family Law at the University of British Columbia. She was a contributing author to the Family Law Act Transition Guide (Family Violence Section). She presented at the National Family Law Conference in 2014 on the topic of Queer Parents and the Law and in 2018 on Parental Alienation. She currently is the co-editor of the family violence section on Clicklaw Wikibook, JP Boyd on Family Law: Resolving Family Law Disputes in British Columbia.
