Profile

An experienced trial and litigation lawyer, Jannelle Taryn Mackoff focuses her practice at JML on builders liens and construction law disputes. In her construction practice, Jannelle works with a wide variety of clients, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers. Jannelle also maintains a general commercial and civil litigation practice.

Jannelle seeks to facilitate the efficient resolution of her clients’ disputes. As a results-driven advocate, Jannelle draws on her extensive trial experience when required in order to achieve the best possible results for her clients. Jannelle has successfully negotiated numerous settlements and, in litigation, represented clients in chambers, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. She has appeared before tribunals and the British Columbia Supreme Court. 

Prior to joining JML, Jannelle was a lawyer at a boutique personal injury law firm for three years, where she gained invaluable court experience. Jannelle has also completed the American Association for Justice’s Depositions Course and Ultimate Trial Advocacy Course, which is held at Harvard Law School.

During university, Jannelle was a member of the UBC varsity women’s rowing team. Jannelle had a successful rowing career and served as captain of the rowing team while attending law school.  From 2018 to 2020, Janelle was an executive board member of the Vancouver Bar Association. Beyond her law practice, Jannelle enjoys writing, tennis, running, and hiking. She loves exploring new places and meeting new people.
