Profile

Adrian’s practice is focused on assisting clients in dispute resolution matters involving construction projects. Adrian also maintains a general commercial litigation practice, and has worked with clients on a range of issues, including contract disputes, easements, and debt recovery.

Adrian’s construction practice includes acting on behalf of both owners and trade contractors in disputes involving builders liens, construction deficiencies and delay claims. He has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court (Chambers) and Provincial Court, as well as administrative tribunals and arbitration panels.

Adrian is a registered professional engineer and, prior to studying law, worked as a mechanical engineering consultant in the construction sector with a particular focus on commercial and institutional buildings, such as schools, universities and hospitals. He draws on this industry experience to help protect his client’s interest and solve legal disputes.

Outside of his work, Adrian enjoys biking, trail running and skiing.

  • Co-counsel for a piling contractor on a project concerning a delay claim by the owner and counterclaim by the contractor for unforeseen ground conditions.
  • Co-counsel for a general contractor on a waste water treatment plant in an arbitration proceeding claim for delay and disruption.
  • Counsel for a residential general contractor in a small claim matter involving deficiency claims and payment disputes with a subcontractor.
  • Counsel for a condo owner in the termination of a general contractor on a home renovation project.
  • Counsel responsible for drafting construction contract documents and terms and conditions for suppliers and trade contractors.
