Megaila Rose
Summer Student

Profile

During her time at law school Megaila developed a keen interest in construction law through a course taught by several of Vancouver’s leading construction lawyers. She is looking forward to learning more about the construction industry through her work with JML, in addition to gaining exposure to the firm’s other areas of expertise.

While pursuing her legal studies, Megaila served as a clinic head of the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) which provides free legal services to low income individuals. Through her work at LSLAP Megaila gained practical experience with court appearances, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations. This work assisted a diverse group of clients in a wide variety of practice areas such as human rights, criminal law, small claims, and estate law.

In addition to her work at LSLAP, Megaila also served as an executive member of the UBC Law Students’ Society in the roles of Social Representative and VP Finance. These roles allowed her to connect with other students and create meaningful opportunities for social engagement at the law school.

Outside of law, Megaila spends her time reading, hiking, and working with her hands on a wide variety of craft and furniture projects.
