Profile

Megaila Rose received her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2023, where she received the Glenn A. Urquhart, QC Memorial Scholarship in Law for outstanding performance in the construction law course. She previously spent a summer articling at JML and is currently completing her full articling term. Megaila will be called to the bar in May 2024, after which she will continue at the firm as an associate lawyer.

Megaila specializes in construction and insurance law as both a solicitor and litigator. As a solicitor, she advises clients in relation to contract drafting and negotiations, risk exposure, and insurance coverage assessments. Megaila also has experience representing clients in various stages of construction litigation including delay claims, defective work claims, builders liens, bond claims, and insurance disputes.

Megaila has appeared in the British Columbia Supreme Court, mediations, arbitration hearings, and administrative tribunal hearings. Her approach is very client-centered, and she always takes time to work with her clients to achieve the most practical solutions.

Outside of the office, Megaila is an avid traveler and can often be found reading or working on her (admittedly limited) painting skills.
