In recent months, the family law Lawyers at JML have been busy preparing for the introduction of the new Family Law Act on March 18, 2013. Scott Booth has presented 7 times to Continuing Legal Education audiences and for the Pacific Business and Law Institute on topics ranging from excluded property, treatment of trusts, and the status of family law agreements under the new legislation. Theresa Stowe has presented for CLE and written a paper on property issues. Dinyar Marzban, Q.C., delivered an overview of the property provisions of the new Family Law Act to Supreme Court Judges in January 2013. JML is working to ensure its clients receive sound and informed advice on this significant change in the law.
