Johanna was called to the bar in 2011 and joined Jenkins Marzban Logan LLP in January 2017. Prior to joining Jenkins Marzban Logan, Johanna clerked at the Supreme Court of British Columbia, articled at one of Canada’s leading national law firms, and practiced with a Vancouver boutique family law firm for 5 years. Johanna’s practice involves all areas of family law, including those relating to children, support, property division, and drafting marriage and separation agreements. Johanna regularly appears in court on behalf of her clients, as well as assisting them with negotiated and mediated settlements outside of court.

Professional Experience

Johanna’s focus is on finding practical and reasonable solutions to complex issues; resolving family law matters outside of court whenever possible. Nevertheless, Johanna has a robust litigation practice and has appeared in the Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal, on a variety of issues (parenting disputes, division of assets, mobility issues, support claims, guardianship applications), including as counsel in Dedes v. Dedes, 2015 BCCA 194, a case which clarifies the material change of circumstances test when seeking to vary orders made under the Divorce Act.

Professional Activities

Johanna is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association, Women’s Lawyers Forum, and a student mentor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She is also a volunteer with West Coast LEAF.

Personal

Johanna is an accredited movement teacher with Open Floor International and certified in Esalen® Massage. When not in the office, you will find her growing vegetables, dancing, making music, or globe-trotting.
